Why book with Pilo

Trained at Leeds College of Music

Formal music education, then 10+ years building a real production practice. Teaching is a separate skill — grounded in that training, not just "I make music so I can teach it."

Real credits

Blanco White · Red Bull BC One · BMG Publishing. Production, mixing, mastering across House, R&B, Soul, Hip-Hop, Indie, Folk, Pop, Baile Funk.

Session-first teaching

We work on your actual track — not theory exercises. You leave knowing why things work, not just what to press. One session should unlock a specific problem.

🎯
You leave with something done Whether it's your low end, your groove, your arrangement, or how to get that sound you've been chasing — one hour of focused work moves you further than a week of tutorials.

Behind the scenes

What it actually looks like when we work on your track together — real feedback, real tools, real progress.

★★★★★ What students say

"Came in as a complete beginner with an idea I couldn't get out of my head. By the end I had a finished track, which felt kind of insane. What I liked most is that Pilo doesn't just show you what buttons to press — he explains why, so you actually understand what you're doing. Didn't expect to finish something I was actually proud of in four sessions."

Common questions

What happens after the free session?

Within two hours I'll send notes on what we worked on and where you're at. From there, different people go different routes — some continue with ongoing 1-to-1 lessons ($30/hr, no commitment), some find the Custom Masterclass fits better if there's a bigger gap to close, and sometimes we discover the track just needs mixing rather than more lessons. I'll tell you what I'd recommend based on the session. No obligation.

What DAW do you work in?

Primarily Ableton Live, but sessions are approach-first — the concepts translate regardless of what you're using. I can also work with Logic, FL, or Bitwig.

What should I bring to the session?

Your current project file, a few reference tracks that capture the sound you're going for, and a specific question or problem you want to crack. The more focused, the more useful the hour.

Is this really free?

Yes. No catch, no pitch at the end. If you find the session useful and want to continue, ongoing 1-to-1 lessons start from $30. But the free hour stands on its own.

What happens after I book?

You'll get a Calendly confirmation email with the Zoom link. Check your spam folder if it doesn't arrive within a few minutes. Add [email protected] to your contacts so follow-ups don't disappear.

What genres do you cover?

House, Afro House, Melodic House, Hip-Hop, R&B, Soul, Indie, Folk, Pop, Baile Funk, Brazilian — sessions adapt to your taste and sound. Genre-specific feedback is the point.
